About This Profile Family

Our window surrounds are a lightweight alternative designed to replicate traditional stone surrounds around windows and doors. Each surround is made in three pieces from the same profile: a header with both top corners mitred and filled flush in our factory, and two jambs that meet it with a 5mm joint level with the opening head, pointed flush with a slightly concave (bucket-handle) finish to look like stone. Some profiles are flat-backed and sit on the wall face; others have a return that lines the reveal. The surround is sized to each opening, with pieces up to 2400mm long, and the jambs stand on the cill. The cill shown in our 3D models is for visuals only; any cill can be used.

Sizing & Installation Guidance

Installation Guidance

  • ·Opening size and surround dimensions are confirmed on the drawing for each opening before manufacture.
  • ·Adjoining wall finish as per project specification (by others).
  • ·Profiles are normally fixed with a 3-strip adhesive bed and Insta-Stik secondary fixing. Mechanical fixing is rarely needed; where the size or complexity of a profile calls for it, this is reviewed at design stage.

This detail is for general guidance only and is not project specific. Always refer to the project architect details and, where applicable, the project specification. For technical queries, contact us on 01685 875410 or info@taylormadefacades.com.
