Lightweight architectural mouldings for rendered facades, fixed before the render on new builds and made to order in Aberdare.
Render mouldings are the architectural profiles that give a rendered building its detail: cornices, string bands, window heads and surrounds, quoins, copings and cills. Taylormade render mouldings are lightweight profiles with a factory-applied polymer-modified basecoat, fixed to the wall before the render on new builds. The render is then brought up to the profile, by our own team or by others.
Each profile is CNC-cut in Aberdare from your general arrangement drawings, as a standard profile, an adapted standard size or a fully bespoke shape. We supply only, or supply and install the mouldings.

How Render Mouldings Are Fixed
Profiles are normally fixed with a 3-strip adhesive bed and Insta-Stik secondary fixing. Mechanical fixing is rarely needed; where the size or complexity of a profile calls for it, this is reviewed at design stage.
Wall-face profiles sit on a temporary timber batten until the Insta-Stik has set. On rendered walls the profile is fixed first and the render is then brought up to it. Copings on rendered walls are fitted before the render, which is then taken up behind the coping leg to the underside of the coping.
Wall-face profiles can be fixed to rendered blockwork, external wall insulation and insulated render systems, timber frame with a render carrier board, and facing masonry. The substrate build-up is confirmed at technical submittal stage. Full details are in the Fixing & Installation Guide.

Taylormade Facades
Manufacture and supply of the render mouldings, and installation of the mouldings where agreed in our quotation. We can also apply the render or external wall insulation, so mouldings and render come from one firm.
By others
The render, insulation and surrounding wall finishes, unless we're applying them as part of the job. Compatibility with adjoining finishes is confirmed for each project.

Do you apply the render?
Yes, if you want us to. We started out in plastering and rendering, and our team applies render and external wall insulation as well as fitting the mouldings. We're just as happy to supply the mouldings for your own render contractor.
Are render mouldings fitted before or after rendering?
On new builds, before. Wall-face profiles are fixed first and the render is then brought up to them. On rendered walls, copings are also fitted before the render, which is then taken up behind the coping leg to the underside of the coping. On existing houses, profiles can be fixed to sound existing render. We check the wall on each project.

What is the lead time?
Standard lead time is typically 2–3 weeks from approval of drawings and confirmed order. Large or complex bespoke orders may take longer; programme is confirmed at quotation.
Can I get a sample first?
Our free samples show the quality of our profiles and the finish options, and are delivered free within 5 working days of request. A sample of a specific or bespoke profile can also be made, but because it has to be drawn and manufactured, it is quoted separately.
